The World As God Sees It

This is one bible verse that nearly every one has memorized. Thank God that God so loved the people of the earth that he sent his son to be the example for mankind and reconciled those who believed in his son. And we learn that God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8  However, the bible also says, "anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God." James 4:4.

There are sharp contrasts in the Bible but the flood of evidence reveals the world as God sees It.  We learn that Jesus Christ became a servant of a world that did not recognize him, or see him as someone special. Instead, the world despised him and took his life and because of ignorance they chose the author of our salvation. Christ came as the Lamb of God, for those who would accept his death as the sacrifice for the sins of the world.  This demonstrates that God saw men of value worth redeeming.

While Christ was in the world he was the light of the world, a light that was extinguished by the world on Calvary. Jesus is the light of the world that could not be hidden and by God’s plan was placed on a hill as if he were a lamp, where all could see him and know that the Lamb of God died in their place. God gave you light to see the truth.

Jesus Christ returned to the throne of God and for those who believe in him and sent his spirit to reside in your body. The torch has been passed on to those who believe in Christ as their atonement sacrifice. In today’s world, you are the light of the world. The beauty of being the light of the world is in how you live. Everyone sees how other people live and keep a record of their dealings with their friends. The secret to letting your light shine is to live so everyone sees Jesus. A part of denying our self is just that, give Jesus Christ the full use of your life. God gave us the light of the world but you have to let him shine through you.

Those in the world are engrossed in obtaining the things of the world. The things they have their mind on will soon pass away, not knowing that the earth is reserved for fire and kept for the Day of Judgment when the destruction of ungodly men takes place. Keeping oneself from being polluted by the world is a full time job requiring the Christian to be aware of what he is doing.

You and I have the divine promises of God so that through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. 2 Peter 1:4  As long as God exists his promises will remain true. Yet, the promises of God are obtained by faith by fully trusting God to act upon his given word. Joshua said not one of his promises has failed him and today Christians can say the same of God. God provides a way of escape.

God’s word is the foundation of the Christian belief because his word has never failed to do what it was intended to do. Jesus said. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." John 16:33. However, you must be born again. No one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. John 3:5-6. As a result of the new birth into the kingdom of God, You are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God's people and members of God's household. Ephesians 2:19. It is by faith that your citizenship is registered in Heaven. Everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God. I John 5:4-5 His promises are innovative and give a solid foundation to stand upon.

The evil of the world is relentless and has blinded man to see the need to see know his creator. For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities-- his eternal power and divine nature-- have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. Romans 1:20. The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. 2 Corinthians 4:4. Because the world is blind they seek something else to fulfill their desires and have chosen to exchange the truth of God for a lie. Like fads the world seeks something different and pursues things that fade away with time. God opens our eyes to the truth.

Christians look forward to the new heavens and Earth where there is no longer any sea and to the New Jerusalem coming down out of heaven. The world and the things of the world will soon pass away and then we will see God and his Christ face to face. Christians expect that day will happen soon and to them will be a day of great joy. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. Revelations 21:4. The things of value on earth have little worth in heaven for we will walk on the streets of gold and see walls of fine jewels. God has a plan for our future.

The new earth, or heaven does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp and his word will still light your path. We will reflect his glory for you are the jasper of the crystal sea that sparkles. Therefore, today is the day to let your light shine for Christ, let the world know what God has in store for them.
