The Truth About Christ.

The most notable phrase spoken by Jesus Christ points directly at his life and purpose for being sent to mankind. That statement lights the path for everyone wanting to enter the kingdom of God.  In this statement Jesus said,

I am the truth the way and the life. John 14:6

Without knowing the person and character of Jesus Christ these words of hope would have no meaning. These words give man a hope for eternal life and a life that can only be obtained through Jesus Christ.

John 3:16 tells us that whoever believes in Jesus Christ will not perish, but have eternal life.  Those who believe in Jesus Christ have the confidence to know that Jesus Christ was a real and credible person. Once saved the Christian’s belief in Jesus Christ understands his purpose is to be with you 24/7 to ensure you obtain eternal life.

Because all men have sinned and are doomed to the sentence of death God made a way that men could be forgiven and have the opportunity of obtain eternal life through Jesus Christ. Speaking through Moses God proposed the option of life and death to all men.

This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the LORD your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the LORD is your life, and he will give you many years in the land he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Deuteronomy 30:19-20

To those who choose life, God made the following promise.

"Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation." Psalms 91:14-16

It is a choice to trust a person who died for our sin and was raised from the grave to serve both God and mankind. Jesus said,

Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms." Luke 24:44  "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. Matthew 5:17

Jesus Christ was deeply devoted to fulfill every promise of God’s plan even denying his own life by making every word and deed agree with his father’s wishes.

What made Jesus completely submitted to God’s plan was his love for his father and the choice to love his creation. Regardless of our affiliation with God every human being that ever lived is technically God’s creation and offspring. God has made an irrevocable choice to love his creation and committed Jesus Christ to demonstrate his love to mankind.

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

Why would Christ die for us unless there was a good reason and some logic to his death? By God’s law, sin demanded the sentence of death and since everyone on earth has sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, everyone deserves the sentence of death. The penalty of death prescribed for sin had to take place to justify us before a Holy God. God sent his son to become the atoning sacrifice offered before God and the world to pardon the sins of man, once and for all.

Jesus Christ took the sins of the world upon himself, substituting his life for ours and was put to death. Christ gave his life as the price God demanded and what our sins deserved. This atonement justified all of mankind before a compassionate God so mankind could have right standing with God. However, according to God’s plan, you must personally accept the sacrifice of Jesus Christ to atone for your salvation voluntarily.  When you accept Jesus Christ as the atonement for your sins and submit to him as Lord of your life, God will adopt you as his child. This adoption is what we call the born again experience.

The word of God was foolishness until we were born again and then our ears are opened to the word of truth. In this born again experience our outlook on life changes and the spirit world becomes real and alive to us. Then being a new creature in Christ Jesus, you learn that Christ’s birth, life, death and resurrection are the focal point of human history from the creation of the world lasting into eternity.

God’s word, the Holy Bible is about Jesus Christ, a written testimony concerning his involvement with mankind yesterday, today and what we can expect in the ages to come. It is written that Jesus Christ is the alpha and omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. He is the – I  am, the way the truth and the life.

Jesus Christ is the author of life, the author of our salvation and the author and finisher of our faith. However,

You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead. We are witnesses of this. Acts 3:15

And now that we are saved.

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2

  So that

In bringing many sons to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the author of their salvation perfect through suffering. Hebrews 2:10

By faith we understand that the word (Jesus Christ) was with God in the beginning and that in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible. Hebrews 11:3
Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. John 1:3

And God spoke saying, let there be… and Jesus Christ created everything that has been made. The creation that can be seen and understood by mankind was a cooperative effort of God’s command and the obedience of Christ.

God admires the qualities of truth that are firmly and deeply established in his character. God is the reality of life not because he is called the ancient of days, because he adheres to what is true. The truth is that the heavens declare God’s existence, eternal power and divine nature in a universal language understood by man through the things he created regardless of where he lives on earth.  God’s word is the truth and because Jesus spoke the words of his father exactly as God commanded him, the words of Jesus Christ are true also.

Without faith it is impossible to please God. Through God’s plan an active personal relationship with Jesus Christ develops the faith needed to please God. This personal relationship with God is secure and strengthened since God will never leave nor forsake us and has promised to make his abode in our heart, because we love him. God has said that no one is able to snatch us out of his hand and has given his children the assurance of his or her salvation. The promise of his spirit is a deposit that guarantees what is to come, our salvation and eternal life through Jesus Christ.

The truth is the way things are done and deception will lead you to the path of complete failure. In other words, God’s truth exists, whereas Satan will attempt to morally corrupt you, deceive you to believe in things that are false and keep you in his control.

Depending on whom we listen to everyone on the face of the earth faces either the wrath of God or his love. The way, the truth and the life are all found in Jesus Christ and those who follow him, hear and obey the words that are spirit and are life. They will know the truth and be on the way to eternal life. Jesus said.

"Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it." Matthew 7:13-14

Jesus also said.

I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. He will come in and go out, and find pasture. John 10:9

Being filled with the Holy Spirit, Peter explained in other words to the Sanhedrin that there was only one way.

"Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved." Acts 4:12

Jesus also said.

Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. John 17:3

When speaking about judgment day Jesus said.

'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!' Matthew 7:23

The verse above reveals the need for a two-way relationship between you, the father and Jesus Christ. The reality of Matthew 7:23 is that if Christ never knew you it is because you never knew him. The real test of knowing God is found in the answers to the following questions. Do you obey the commands of Jesus Christ? And does Jesus Christ answer your prayers?

"I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing”." John 15:5

Jesus relied heavily upon God to guide him as he knew he could do nothing as a man apart from God. Jesus Christ was confirmed as God’s representative, by trusting in God to perform the impossible. When Jesus reached out to people in need, the blind could see, the lame could walk, lepers were cured, the deaf could hear and the dead were raised and given back to their families. The miracles show that Jesus Christ had a relationship with God as these miracles that were done by the father gave Jesus his credentials as one known and approved by God.

Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves. John 14:11

Jesus Christ preached the good news to the poor and God drew people from Judea in groves to hear him speak and see God restore the lives of people. Jesus Christ was able to preach the good news boldly because he knew that his father was with him wherever he went.

"The one who sent me is with me; he has not left me alone, for I always do what pleases him." John 8:29

Jesus faced the same temptations as all men have and avoided every evil he faced with God’s help. When being tempted by Satan, Jesus relied upon the word of truth and quoted portions of the Old Testament in reply to Satan.

Although he was a son, he learned obedience from what he suffered and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him. Hebrews 5:8-9

Jesus seen as the light of the world and in obedience went to the cross of his own free will.

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." John 8:12

The love of Jesus was a beacon of shining light, lighting the way of salvation through laying his life down on the cross for our sin. And just as the lighted candle was never placed under a bowl, this light was nailed to the cross where every man could see him die for our sin. The blood of Christ covered the sins we are ashamed of all because Jesus Christ died paying the penalty for your sin.
