Commonsense And God
Common sense can be as refreshing as an ocean breeze and the smell in the air after a rainstorm. It’s the rainbow pleasing to the eye and tells you everything is soon going to return to normal. At the same time commonsense can be relaxing knowing God is in control.
It is also a well-known fact that man is an expert at covering up his mistakes to look as innocent as a new born baby. It is this covering over of wickedness that hides the truth from being known. At the same time covering up things is a form of intimidation that compels you to do the same things the world is doing.
Its commonsense for men to only rejoice when the truth is exposed but it may be only because they haven’t been caught red handed. Still being caught in the act doesn’t change the way men live before the God that is watching you. Again its commonsense that God’s purpose is to strengthen the hearts of men fully committed to him (2 Chronicles 16:9).
Commonsense tells us to consider the true eternal power and divine nature of our God. The immortal side of God divine nature says that he existed eons before the creation of the heavens and earth. It also says God will be in control eons after we have died. If he is alive and well eons before during and after our days on earth commonsense consideration the position we were created to fulfill?
Commonsense tells us that if God was not a creative being, neither man nor the world would exist. So why is it that the world refuses to recognize his place of authority when it’s a well-known fact that the world was made through him. It also makes sense that the world exists at God’s discretion and anyone who chooses to ignore him becomes an enemy of God.
Commonsense considers the divine being that created the earth knows how everything works and is able to change its basic configuration to destroy it completely. Science tells us the state of the earth is structured by a well-balanced set of elements. If any one element were altered by three percent it would severely alter the existence of life. According to scripture God has planned a day when he will will prevent the sun from shining on the earth and turn the earth’s water to blood. Commonsense tells us to be prepared for that day on the other hand those who haven’t prepared will be in shock fearing for their life on that day.
The relationship between our knowledge and being able to make decisions and then do what is best for us is what we know as commonsense. In other words Commonsense gives us the ability to discern the proper methods and react accordingly. It is a combination of being prudent and living up to the God given potential God created you to become.
The world very rarely seeks the truth they cannot see and do not understand what they do see. The reason their recognition of God is nonexistent is they have set their minds in agreement with the way the world works. Therefore they live according to what is right in their eyes. When confronted with the truth they say that is not how the real world works.
When Man became able to distinguish good from evil that knowledge enabled mankind with commonsense. In the creation story God drove Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden so they would not be able to eat from the treeof life and live forever (Genesis 3:22). the right to eat from the tree of life is reinstated in Revelation 2:7 in the paradise of God. Therefore man needs the commonsense to know what God has planned and conform to a life that enables him to have access to the tree of life.
Does the world have commonsense when they elevate themselves above the position God has? Are they not telling God that they are worthy to rule in his kingdom? They are not aware that God knows their pride and whether they are effectively ruling their life with commonsense. After failing the test how can God expect them to rule any part of his kingdom? Commonsense tells us that if God can create the heavens and the earth he is capable of seeing through your pride.
Commonsense tells that pride is not exclusive to those belonging to the world. Even Christians want to begin ministering at the highest level which rightfully belongs to the person trained for the position. They do not realize they lack the experience to support the undertaking? But when what you want something right now commonsense seems to fly away and is not seen until you come to your senses.
Commonsense tells us the God who wants to be glorified does not want his name slandered yet men do. We know that it is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God (Hebrews 10:31). Its guaranteed you will remember the struggle and never do it again (Job 41:8)! It also makes commonsense not to anger the very God capable of giving you good things.
Commonsense doesn’t mean that I am in total control of my life. When I am in the areas affected by hurricanes, volcano eruptions and simple rainstorms take control of what I do. However those events tell me whatis logical to do. Even though God is control of our lives commonsenseallows us to take his word to heart to control what we do.
There is commonsense in governing our lives according to God’s plan. James 2:5 reveals that God promised those who love him would inherit the kingdom of God. It is not a coincidence the first law of God is to Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength (Mark 12:30). Commonsense determines the value of inheriting the kingdom of God only then can you giving your all to obey God's commands.
Commonsense tells me it is worth committing my life to my creator for my life is a irreplacable but precious commodity. God has offered every person on earth the choice to continue living throughout eternity. On the other hand commonsense tells me the death God has planned for the wicked will be continued throughout eternity in horrible conditions and away from the presence of God. I have alreadyconsidered the worth of both destinations and made the choice for life.
Now is the time for you to exercise your God given ability of commonsense that governs your life. You have been given a limited look into the reality of heaven and hell and you have enough information to determine the right choice for you. At the same time you must make that decision before the day of judgment. Then the choice falls into God’s hands and you may not agree with him. 8/20/2014
